OUR VISION
Greater San Francisco Ad Club began in 1906 as the Advertising Club
of Oakland. Although the name has changed, the purposes have not. Our
mission is to act as a unifying voice for the area's advertising professionals.
We strive to encourage, promote and develop truth and honesty in advertising;
to widen the public knowledge of the social and economic services of
advertising; to further understanding and knowledge of advertising in
general among students and provide assistance and encouragement to those
students interested in the advertising industry; and, to provide a convenient
means whereby advertising professionals may meet to network and discover
new and improved techniques in the art and science of advertising.
Greater San Francisco Ad Club supports education, diversity and worthwhile
causes, and, at the same time, recognizes creative excellence in a warm
and enjoyable environment. As the "Unifying Voice for Advertising," the
American Advertising Federation (AAF), headquartered in Washington, D.C.,
with a Western Region office in Newport Beach, Calif., is the trade association
that represents 50,000 professionals in the advertising industry. AAF's
130 corporate members are advertisers, agencies and media companies
that comprise the nation's leading brands and corporations. AAF has
a national network of 210 ad clubs and connects the industry with an
academic base through its 210 college chapters.
