Introducing the GSFAC Member’s Internship Program

July 31, 2007

In an effort to enhance the value of your membership, The San Francisco Ad Club and the College of Business at San Francisco State University are excited to announce the creation of a new partnership between our organizations.

Beginning this fall, Greater San Francisco Ad Club members will have unprecedented access to the pool of outstanding students participating in SF State’s Marketing Internship program. While this partnership will allow interested student interns to gain real-world advertising and promotion experience, it also gives you the opportunity to work with the best and brightest students at SF State.

Here's how it works.
Once enrolled in this three-unit Marketing Internship class, students are responsible for locating a marketing internship in an organization in which they can work a minimum of 100 hours during the semester. Internships may include any aspect of marketing including traditional or online advertising and promotion, public relations, new product development, package design, broadcast and print production, sales, marketing research, direct marketing, media sales, research, etc.

In addition to the day-to-day responsibilities that comprise their 100 hours of field training, students are also required to work with their supervisors to identify a marketing problem being experienced by the organization and provide a written analysis of and solution for the problem. Students' grades are based on a combination of supervisor, faculty and self evaluations.

The internship course are offered in the Fall (late August), Spring (late January) and summer (early June). Internships may be paid or unpaid.
